Anmarie K. Gorman, RN - President and Founder of Gorman & Associates has built the company into the largest AHA private training center in the metropolitan Washington area. The firm is responsible for training more than 5,000 persons per year. She has served on the state and local boards of the American Heart Association and has served statewide as member of the AHA regional faculty. Ms. Gorman was an AHA fundraiser volunteer of the year in 1990. She also holds certification as an instructor for the Boy Scouts of America. A graduate of Marymount University, she has worked as a professional nurse at Greater Southeast Hospital; in the ICU and Medical Surgical Units of Mount Vernon/Fairfax Hospital; and in the Emergency Room of the INOVA HealthPlex facility. While at Greater Southeast Hospital she was an AHA instructor and a member of the AHA NOVA board of directors and coordinated CPR/ACLS programs. During that period Ms. Gorman established and directed the Advanced Cardiac Life Support Program of Fairfax Hospital and assisted other area hospitals in the implementation of similar programs.

Janney Lawson - Founder of Lawson TEC in Annandale, VA and its training center, she is an instructor trainer for all American Heart Association programs as well as an instructor trainer for the National Safety Council and the American Safety and Health Institute. She developed the first mass CPR training program in the northeastern United States. Lawson TEC is a sales, repair and supply company for CPR equipment. Ms. Lawson holds an AA degree from Stratford College and a BA from the University of Georgia. She earned her EMT certification at the University of Bridgeport.

Eric Backus - Site Coordinator for Gorman & Associates. As an AHA and ASHI BLS Instructor Eric gained his experience as a combat medic while enlisted in the US Army. Eric also became a Peer-Instructor for the Army where he trained fellow medics in San Antonio, Texas. Eric is currently finishing his bachelor's degree in educaton. Eric has worked with Gorman & Associates for over four years; combined with his military service has been a Basic Life Support Instructor for over seven years. Eric is President/Owner of his own BLS training company NOVA C.E.R.T.

Lawrence J. Kane - Former executive director of an international foundation responsible for the development of medical education programs and materials for lay users under grants from the National Institutes of Health, World Health Organization, British Medical Association, WR Grace Foundation and AT&T. He earned his AB in political science at Brandeis University where he later served as assistant to the president.
